Common Questions

What Families Often Ask

What is the admission process like?
Admission starts with a phone conversation or on-site visit where we learn about your loved one's health conditions, daily routines, and preferences. This is followed by a care assessment conducted by our nursing team. Once the assessment is complete, we prepare a personalised care brief that outlines their daily support plan. The entire process typically takes one to two weeks, depending on the complexity of care needs.
Can family members visit at any time?
Yes, family members are welcome to visit during our visiting hours from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. We encourage visits and believe they contribute positively to a resident's sense of continuity and comfort. If you need to arrange a visit outside of regular hours, please speak with our care coordinator.
How are meals and dietary requirements handled?
Our kitchen prepares meals using seasonal ingredients, and each menu cycle accounts for common dietary needs such as diabetic-friendly, low-sodium, and texture-modified options. During the intake process, we discuss food preferences and any allergies. If a resident's dietary requirements change over time, we update their meal plan accordingly in coordination with their healthcare provider.
What happens if a resident's health changes?
Our nursing team monitors each resident's condition through daily health checks. If a change is observed, we contact the family and the resident's attending physician to discuss care adjustments. In cases requiring hospital attention, we coordinate transport and provide a care summary for the receiving medical team. Families are kept informed throughout the process.
Are your fees eligible for government subsidies?
Depending on your loved one's citizenship status, income level, and care needs assessment by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), government subsidies and financial assistance may be available. We are happy to walk you through the eligibility criteria and application process when you enquire about our programmes.
Can I try a short stay before committing to full-time care?
Our Midweek Respite Stay is a good way to experience life at Fieldstone without a long-term commitment. It runs Monday through Friday and covers all meals, personal care, and activities. Many families use this option first to see how their loved one settles in, before deciding on a more permanent arrangement.
